You're talking about Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now right? I liked that game a lot, especially battling against those big cars and trying to waste them (Although it could get a bit tedious sometimes...) But in speedrun terms you would just need to race through the checkpoints instead of wasting your opponents (Well, you could do that and possibly have a faster win, maybe, but that would require lots of luck and will most probably be slower because of chasing others and the way the opponents behave which can make the progress quite slow now and then...). So I think just racing is probably the way to go. I'm still interested though

I agree.
In the first Carmageddon game the opponents adapted to your strategy meaning, if you crossed several checkpoints they would start doing the same, but if you immediately started wreaking havoc in the beginning, there was a great chance they would do the same. And yes, in the first game it _is_ actually possible to pass the first stage within 1 minute this way. Dunno if the AI works the same way in the sequel, as I haven't played it alot.

i'd like to see this run =) if racing is allways better, it could have a separate category "waste em all" =) and the one where you kill all walkers =)

the "kill all walkers" response is not going to work since your opponents will kill pedestrians just as you are. The only way to kill all of them in a map is if you kill a ton of them and then use a cheat to have them respawn. The best way would be to win the race and destroy all opponents IMHO.

It was just a request? :-/ By the way, I think you must complete all levels by racing, not by wasting opponents because in the later levels you have these big cars which can take some serious amount of time to waste them (Or much luck must be involved to for example trap them under something which sometimes can cause an instant or near-instant waste) and I think you can't make it so that you complete some levels by racing and others by wasting opponents. I could be wrong though but those are 2 different ways of completing a level Maybe wasting opponents could be made a seperate category (And also racing a seperate category). I don't know if SDA would accept any of this, I guess someone needs to contact mikwuyma about it.

it doesent matter, if noone wants to try the game. I belive it doesent matter how you complete the game, only result matters. in first levels, its easy to just destroy opponents, rather than race them. Also you can upgrade your car, so wasting them would be easier. i would like to do it ofcourse, but i dont have the time and i suck @ games sry, i made double post

We should consider two different categories, waste all opponents, and race to the finish.
100% would be waste all peds/zombies and opponents lastly (not gonna happen soon?)
Special mission don't need categorising. (sp?)

This run must be done. I am for having two different runs, destroying opponents is a must, in this game racing comes second imo.
I think I will check this out if nobody else wants to. Bear in mind that I dont have either of the Carmageddons, and all I ever played was the demo for the first one at my friends house a long long time ago(my computer wasnt good enough at the time)
If I do this it will be a while, I dont have any experience with the game other than the demo. I bet theres a Carmageddon master who can do this though.

I think I can contribute to this.. carmageddon 3 is very fun too As of now I think fastest way is waste all opponents but I'll have to investigate One question: how are we gonna do with the upgrades on the car? How is the usual way you do in runs?

carmageddon 3 is very fun too You could run that one too if you want Although I enjoyed that one much less than Carmageddon 2, it wasn't as much fun to play in my opinion. One question: how are we gonna do with the upgrades on the car? How is the usual way you do in runs? Use upgrades as you see fit as long as it saves time You could find some easy located ones like in the first level a little back there's an Armor upgrade in the carwash if I'm not mistaken, you could take that one for example. But most of them are pretty off track so I'm not sure if they would be really worth it. Well, collecting Engine upgrades can make your car faster of course, so research for the nearest\easiest to collect locations I would say (There's an Engine upgrade on the roof near the carwash I believe).
