Nice time Smiley and well executed!  Smiley

Question: do you need to reload the rifle after the last JJ?  Or does it take a few seconds for the door to become open-able?

Also, for the 2nd and 3rd rifle shots in Ashley's holding cell, can you run forward and get them both from the same standing position?  (If not in one shot, then without lowering and re-raising the rifle?)  Smiley

Anyways great shots, and great running!  Smiley

I hope to improve my JJ-Lab strategy so I can do it more consistently, and I'm still trying to find the optimal (and still realistic) Krauser battle.  I think I've found the fastest (realistic) way to get past the shield ganado outside of the freezer too.  Smiley

Until I improve them some more, my strategies are really hard to pull off consistently though.  So I need to improve those more so I can do each one at least 9 out of 10 times.

> Yes i do need to wait. Why reloading rifle helps me time it good

> Good idea, i will try it but im not gonna redo the run! XD

Ok, I went through and timed a run from each version, and there are actually no time differences between the 2 versions (PAL and North American.)  Smiley

So most of the time differences in the run are from strategies.  Smiley

I went through and timed each portion of the run, and all the regular running parts were the same on each version.  Smiley  (You even had a faster time than mine on the 2nd outdoors area at the beginning, after climbing up the ladder.)  Tongue  (Nice job btw.)  Tongue

So here are the time differences for my strategies (not in Wupeng's video) :

Exiting the freezer:
my "safe" strategy: 1.5 seconds faster
the "ideal" (but luck-oriented) strategy (outlined earlier) : ~4.5 seconds faster

Ashley holding cell:  8 seconds faster

JJ - Lab:  9 seconds faster

Krauser:  Your strategy (or Wupeng's) is actually the fastest variation of this, I believe.  Smiley  No dodges, very little extra running.  The only difference is that I believe it is ~1.5 to 1.75 seconds faster to stay with the rifle after JJ.  (Yes, I added up the total times for the next 3 parts to find that out. XD)

So,
Sticking with the Rifle after JJ: ~1.5 to 1.75 seconds faster.

So, 9 + 8 + 4.5 + 1.5 = ~23 seconds faster.  Smiley

So ~6:08 should be possible on the PAL also.  Smiley  (Or ~6:11 for the more conservative strategy after the freezer.)

Also, PAL players can save ~1.5 seconds by skipping the JJ in the garbage area.  Smiley  If we run by him like that on our version, he will shoot Ada after she opens the door every time.  Sad  So we have to go and draw him into the gun-swing attack before continuing.  Sad  (Adds about 1.5 seconds.)

No time is shown on any version i believe.

As for your strategy, i would be interested to see the freezer, ashley holding cell(i would have kept the rifle instead of switching to TMP) and JJ lab room(may keep rifle but that means that passing the two guys after the locked door is gonna be hard to avoid them)

Also keep in mind that from the strategy i used, there is 4 seconds of improvement (on a run i had done before my 6:31, but Krauser mucked me up). Ironically on the next attempt i got my 6:31 run. Tongue

Yeah, the times were calculated based on your 6:31 run.  Smiley

For the other run with the 4-second error, was it a dodge that was required during the Krauser battle?

Anyways, I'll make a video of the run eventually, but I'll just put it on Youtube since I don't have a DVD recorder.

I almost had a recording of a 6:10-6:11 run yesterday or the day before, but Krauser didn't get stunned (or even damaged) from one of the rifle shots.  Sad  (as he was going into the kick.)

Also, for carrying the rifle from the JJ battle to Krauser, when approaching the lab-exit door, I stay over far to the left when reaching the bottom of the stairs (I have to avoid that one hand ganado on the left of the stairs,) and then often the hand ganado behind the door will point and call out.

But also, when opening the door, I open it all the way on the left-hand-most edge, and that way he usually doesn't see Ada until after the door is opened.  (Because there's a little of the wall there in the way.)  That usually works about 7 out of 10 times.  Then I just fake them both out, and run by.

The thing I'm looking forward to is getting good enough at the rest of the run that I can take a chance and get the luck to work in my favor after exiting the freezer.  Smiley  There's a really fast strategy for that, but it's really hard to pull off, and probably involves some luck.  (~3 out of 10, if that.)  But it would be the fastest way of doing that part.  Smiley
