It has come to my notice that this god forgotten mod with it's modified monsters is yet to have a speedrun. Me and quadrazid who ran Decay are thinking of picking this mod. Individual level runs with new health and restock on ammo & grenades might turn this into a pretty interesting run with new tricks and routes differing from Spider-Waffle's SP run. Any thoughts?

2 Players
Version 3.0

As you all may know, the Sven Co-op version of HLSP differs from the original. More monsters, more BORING. Yes yes yes yes. We're planning on reverting the SC version back to original to get a "real" Half-Life co-op run so to say. Any couples willing of joining and finish this mod once and for all?

The hardest thing atm most be to restore the SC maps to original HL.
Not that fun making a run when there is hundreds of Heavy Weapon Grunts with 250hp each i your path.

Also, SC have uncapped bunnyhop render possible horisontal damage boost, wich we could not do in Decay (capped bhop)

With more than 2 players some maps could be really fast.

I'm willing to help you with the run in one or another way. Would be an awesome, but hard speedrun to produce.

lolz

1. extract original maps from halflife.gcf
2. edit them with ripent to add additional spawns
3. paste to svencoop
4. Huh
5. Profit!

Well you need weapons too, and there is about 90 maps we're talking about.

If you mean to double each weapon on the map, I'd say that would be boring. The Coop run should be well-thought-out and strategic which means you'd have to deal with situations where only one guy can pick up a certain weapon. Then you should make decisions about who is going to get which weapon to achieve the fastest time.  (Otherwise just put mp_weaponstay to 1)

However, if you mean to spawn with weapons at the mapstart, you can declare the starting equipment in a .cfg called the same as the map you want to edit, by pasting the weapon names you want to start with.

Example:
weapon_gauss in the c2a5.cfg would mean that you spawn with a gauss in that map.

Me and quvu has started to play around a bit with the mod and discovered some neat (but probably old) tricks.

Up through the window sVeN c0-0p stÿle.

Grappeling gun usage; pull mode doesn't cease to to grapple through death, could have some use on different levels. If both players use rappeling mode on eachother they can jump down from pretty much any height without getting damaged. Can't really think of any direct uses of it at the moment due to me not having played this mod in forever. Embarrassed

Probably forgot about something, quadrazid post the rest I forgot Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Cool Cool Cool Shocked

Also, Zhouy has started to fix the spawn points for a couple of the beginning maps so we're pretty much ready to go! Kiss
