EDIT: OK, I think it is Utility of time, right? Does anyone know UOT's website? I can't find any info on it, other than a direct download of the latest version. Also, does anyone have the file "UoT_0.83_Source.rar"? If so, could you email it to me? I see that its an old version, but I would like it anyway. Thanks Sorry if this is mentioned somewhere in the thread or on your youtube account but theres too much to look through. What program are you using to see that in the beginning of the video?

Though I totally promote people using this program and bumping this thread I think that it be better if you went the the IRC channel to talk about it sense it isn't really on topic.

Oh yes, sorry for the off-topic post. Ok, I'll get on topic. How is progress going on a speedrun of this game? I watched this forum a while ago and saw people discover many great tricks. Escape the forest, DoT skip, others. So has anyone tried putting it all together for a very fast run?

New video I made about some new small timesavers over the current route and groobo's test run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyNL3XDflhU&feature=channel_pageEDIT: Ok, the third timesaver in my video actually seems to save 15 seconds! How I did this was I timed how long it took in groobo's test run to go from sunset to sunrise in his segments 6 and 7 (of course excluding places where time wasn't passing, though I included the darkness areas) and it took 1:44. Now I timed how long it took from sunset to sunrise in multiple tests. I replicated everything that groobo did in segment 6 and 7 until sunrise (except I used the new trick) and it took 1:29 each time. The normal time to pass from sunset to sunrise is 1:25, but you are in the darkness for some time at the beginning of segment 7, so it takes more time. Also it is better to stall more time in segment 6, since you will need less time waiting in segment 7 so you won't have to wait as long so many times until you get the 2 bomb drops. Hope I didn't confuse anybody. I took the time to really test this method. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEsXrBMd0QU - please read the description, it's complicated, and I'm not good at all this route planning and time testing stuff (part of the reason this is taking so long). Long story short, it saves about 10 seconds but only if you do the new forest escape. If someone can confirm I didn't make any mistakes, then I'm ready to start practicing.

is it ok for sda if the save file numbers dont match? i mean if one file is 000 and in an other segment its 001? i was careless and didnt pay attention to it so i got this problem now. item count and this stuff is alright its just this damn save file number...why does this fuck exist
[edit] sry i figured out those stand for the deaths lol [/fail]

i think everything has to match up. if there's just 1 detail that doesn't fit, verifiers might reject the run due to possible "game manipulation" (i know it sounds unfair but they have to cover their asses against real cheaters)

Sasuke is right and everything does need to match up, but exceptions have been made. In one of the pokemon runs(cant remember which off the top of my head) is missing an entire segment. So i think that if you make a note and explain what happened when you submit your run, then it should be ok. The verifiers will all know enough about OoT that they'll know that the number won't change anything, as long as everything else matches up.
Of course, that's just my opinion...

thanks for the reply but i figured out now that those numbers when selecting a save file stand for the deaths. and i did a suicide skip so it actually has to change from 000 to 001. first i thought its something like how many new games you started cause i redid a lot of segments and of course i started a lot of new files but thats luckily not the case so its alright with my run

I think I remember mikwuyma saying something to the point of regreting having excepted that run. I'd make sure now while you dont have an entire run recorded...

Lost my uber ww ss prowers, working to gain them again! May record this year?
