Neo Geo: No, there are very few games that are exclusive to the Neo CD, and the only game I can think of off the top of my head is a shmup. Most games are just simple ports with better audio but incredibly horrid load times (1x speed cd drive, anyone?) TurboGrafx/PC Engine: Yes, there are quite a few CD-exclusive games on the Turbo CD, such as Akumajou Dracula: Chi no Rondo Understood. Is it Last Resort on the NG that you're thinking of? If I had the money, I'd buy a CD Drive or a Duo today just for Dracula X. The music alone is incredible! Too bad the PCE/TG-16 had so many shooters, not a whole lot of good speed running available. Oh well, theres always Superplays!

Understood. Is it Last Resort on the NG that you're thinking of? It's actually some other random shmup called brikringer or something like that. I know that's not the exact name, but I honestly forgot what the real name is.

One would think the author of the current record could easily record one a hundredth of a second faster. One of the reasons for the bounty is that some people don't trust Hirano's time, so Luca wants there to be a well proven world record. It'll be interesting to see if Hirano will make an attempt to meet Luca's proof requirements, now that there's money involved. Personally, I doubt that Hirano will attempt the challenge. I think our best bet right now is Sebastian Stellmacher. On laps 1 and 2 he takes the final landing/turn about a kart-width further out then he needs to... working on that and the initial power slide alone would certainly allow him to beat his current time. If he's too close to the right side, then he'd need to wait longer before using the mushroom, which would slow him down. There are even others with sub-11 second lap times posted. All of the sub-11 laps have been done with more than 1 mushroom. As far as I know, no one has ever beaten any of Hirano's laps with only 1 mushroom. Could it turn out to be one of the fastest bounties ever claimed? Hirano's time is almost perfect and has gone unbeaten for years, even though many good players have tried and failed, so I'd say it's one of the harder bounties.

OK, I remember something with a rather odd name like that now. I assume that playing emulated games (ala Pitfall II on GBA) will NOT count as new systems.

I see now that I was mistaken and it's also obvious now why some people don't trust that time. He really ought to at least attempt this if his record is that much in question, but if it's years we're talking about, well I see what's happened here. I now see that bounty is as hellish as any of the craziest in this thread.

I assume that playing emulated games (ala Pitfall II on GBA) will NOT count as new systems. If you're talking about my bounty, then it only counts as a new console added when a new section is added to the game list drop down menu. GBA has already had some runs, so I won't pay out for any of those. There's already a DS run, so I won't pay for that either. If you have any questions on a particular console just ask about it and I'll let you know.

I assume that playing emulated games (ala Pitfall II on GBA) will NOT count as new systems. Oh, heh heh, I just realized that if I bought an Atari 2600 and matched my Pitfall II runs (I think the 2600 versions would be faster because the GBA version has a lot of slowdown), I could get five bucks. Or somebody with a 2600 could get five from ZenicReverie and fifty from me for running Adventure for 2600 on medium or hard. I'm just thinking out loud; I'm not planning to buy a 2600.

I'll put up $50 for Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries, Mechwarrior 3, and Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. If it's just an absolutely incredible run, I'll throw in maybe another $25. I'm not entirely sure about Mech 2, 4, Black Knight, or Mechwarrior 1. Possibly, but just not certain at this point.
I can provide an FTP account to for the video. You'd just have to capture the FRAPS/Camtasia video, convert it over to something smaller like Divx/Xvid/H264 at 400KB/sec, and upload it to the FTP. I'd handle all the various intermediate encodings, plus editing. I can help work out "batch" encodes of all the small segments so that it's not so much of a hassle.

I'd like to amend my Goemon bounty to being simply a run done through the game. Whether or not it's segmented is of no significance. That might open up the possibility of it ever getting done a very slight margin >.>
I'd also like to throw up a few more titles.
- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 on either PS2, GCN or Xbox. Any%, where that places the run ending can be up for debate in the forums if anyone wants to tackle it. $25.
- Tony Hawk's Underground on either PS2, GCN or Xbox. Any% on Sick difficulty. $25
- Tony Hawk's Underground 2 on either PS2, GCN or Xbox. Improvement over the run currently on the site. SS. $25.
- Tony Hawk's American Wasteland on either PS2, GCN, Xbox or 360. Any% on Sick difficulty. $25.
- Tony Hawk's Project 8 on either 360 or PS3. Any% (makes it into Project 8.) $25.
- Tony Hawk's Proving Ground on 360 or PS3. All story paths complete. $25.
- Tony Hawk's American Wasteland classic goals run on PS2 Collector's Edition, Sick difficulty. 100% goals complete. $25.
- Tony Hawk's Underground 2 classic goals run on PS2, GCN or Xbox, Sick difficulty. 100% goals complete. $25.
Just getting something up there for every Tony Hawk game. TH games have been in and out of getting ran and hopefully this will be added incentive =P. If something's getting done regardless then that's always good too. I'll pay within two weeks of the run being available on SDA, though most likely it won't take that long. If someone wants to contact me about these then the best way to do so would be through e-mail, which I check every day. That would be: hexrapper[at]gmail.com. I'll try to log in here more frequently from now on, but e-mail is definitely the preferred method of communication over PMs.

Oh man, I started playing freespace 2 again and... my bounty is insane. I know that I suck and that my original bounty was probably possible, but...
The revised version is: the same amount of money, $25, for a speedrun of the game that gets on SDA. No difficulty stipulations, no forced 100%. Just play well. I do reserve the right to withhold cash if I feel that the verifiers were too lenient and that the run should not be on SDA, but I honestly doubt this case would come up in a million years.
As per the usual, do contact me beforehand to make sure I'm actually around, etc.
