Notice I capitalized segmented. I think this SS 100% run of San Andreas crap is ridiculous, and it will never be done.

Basically, every time I do a speedrun someone beats the living hell out of my time or essentially steals my thunder by doing it better while I am running it *cough* GTAIII *cough*. No big deal really, the GTAIII run is awesome, and the Postal 2 run looks great.

So I have decided I have the hard drive space, the ability, and after April 1st, the time to take on such a project. I would do only what is necessary to receive what the game considers to be 100%. That means no unique jumps or burglaries missions. I will try to utilize an effective route, and just as a warning this is going to be an incredibly long run, which will take an incredibly long time to do.

This is where I will need help. As I am doing segments I will release them, and any advise anyone can give me will certainly help. I will start planning routes now, but I won't be running until after March. Here is what I believe is necessary for 100%, correct me if I am wrong.

All missions/side missions.

All vehicle missions excluding burglaries.

All Tags/Horseshoes/Oysters

All Properties/Assets

All Stadium/Schools/Challenges and the Gym

I think that about does it. Wish me luck on this, it will be tough.

If you do this, you had better be sure to multitask your objectives. None of that "one segment devoted to collecting the collectables" junk you did in your GTA III 100% attempt. The snapshots in particular - the lot of them could easily be inserted into the various missions in San Fierro.

Are there any maps with the collectables on them you can print out and refer to? I have maps of each of GTAIII's islands with little symbols I put on indicating packages, jumps, rampages, pickups I know I'll need (not many) and there's lines running all over the place as I refined my route to do it faster. Things like researching missions thoroughly to determine whether or not they go past a collectable or quite close to one that's out of the way.

If not I'm sure the info's there, so you can mark them in yourself and that will also give you a good feel for the exact locations because you may find some can only be approached from a certain direction (or whatever).

I'll watch each of your segments and try and do some research to try and help if a route looks a bit askew, but I promise I won't steal this one! If I do anything it'll be Vice City next. Best of luck!

Not great IIRC when you are using them to first find the damn things, but as you already know where your going, I presume at least, they should do the job.

To I2ebel: just a clue,

40 hours is definately too much. I needed 43 hours to complete the game 100% without caring about speed.

Where will you host this? I am assuming SDA won't host it, as there is probably 0 chance of you breaking 20 hours in my mind.

i agree with everyone here, its going to take 15+hrs to do this
i wanted to do a comparison, legit vs using a trainer

i used the standard "options" and managed to get to "Are You Going to San Fierro?" in 2hrs 20mins (~4 mission failures, i failed 2 missions 2 times a piece and they were long missions)

looking at my 100% check list....tons of stuff left to do ~49 required missions
all tags, oysters, 50 taxi deliveries, paramedic lvl 12, firefighter lvl 12, vigilante lvl 12, freight train, pimping, pistol/smg/shotgun/ak47 challenge, learn moves, all the races, photo ops, drive/boat/fly school
the car import/export, horse shoes, all teh houses and assets

regardless of how long it is, if you complete it...im interested in watching it

My plan is to do as much as possible per segment, though some difficult things will have to be their own segment. I would try to spray as many tags as is effectively possible while doing missions, same for photos in San Fierro. As for oysters, well, I have to wait until I have a boat and clearance for all areas before tackling most of them. Some stuff in this game is difficult, and would require their own segments. Things like paramedic can wait until Angel Pines where all the patients end up in the same area. I won't lie, I am not great at this game, but I certainly can do it well with enough practice. And I will find a suitable place to host the segments, since I am almost sure SDA wouldn't accept it. As for the run itself, I predict 15-20 hours total running time. Thank god for my 300GB detachable drive.

EDIT - Oh, and I do have to complete those courier missions right? Because I think Robino's and such are aquireable assets. Plus, I do believe I have to buy ALL safehouses.
