wait a second...are you allowed to use the fast travel system for the run???  I was under the impression that Pweisger wouldn't want that used throughout the run.  Personally, I consider a 100% run one where you run everywhere and don't use fast travel.  Without fast travel, yes, LOTS of hours, but if you guys decide to use fast travel, well less hours, yes.  Either way, 10 hours is a little too optimistic...and I still can't understand how someone would even want to do this...I can make more money working a few days than I could actually planning the route out and playing through, etc.

(okay so maybe I WAS exaggerating when I said 300 hours to play through the game, but the time required to plan and play, and replay parts you died from will take a while.  Just seems a little bit too ridiculous for me)

I don't see why you wouldn't allow fast travel.  How many times would you want to see someone cross the country?  Plus this is a speedrun after all, albeit a very long speedrun, but a speedrun nonetheless.

Why don't we have a regular speed run of the main quest?

i would prefer it without fast travel... it seems to force much more planning =) otherwise you could do many things in any order...

Any speedrun requires a good amount of planning anyway Smiley

I wouldnt want to waste 25 hours of my life watching some random guy running around 18 of them.

There were two completed Oblivion runs floating around some time ago.  One used a glitch with potions to come out to < 20 minutes, while the other was a little over an hour.  Niether of them made it into the SDA games list, and I can't find any working links to download them anymore.  Can anyone with those videos reupload them for those of us who never got to finish watching them when they were still available?

Thanks
Zanthra

And way cool there with the progress you have made.  This is looking to turn into a very sweet speedrun.  Way to go.

youtube has those oblivion runs.

if I had FRAPS and someone made a good route for me to take, I might consider doing this, considering how I can't do Fable until i get a DVD recorder anyways. -_-

this run wouldnt be hard if you put the bar all the way to the left.  it would be incredibly easy.  its just that you would have to memorize your route, and that would be as painful as stuffing a steak through your ear.

Those weren't 100% runs, which is what this forum topic is about...a 100 percent run is NOT going to be under 20 minutes so it's not worth mentioning here!

Its the same game, and from reading his post you can tell he knows the difference between those runs and what were doing here.

Unless its wildy off topic and detrimental, nobody should be dictating whats discussed here.

You seem like an ok guy, but youre the last person who should be in charge of this sort of thing, since youve made it abundantly clear you dont know what youre talking about anyway.

Umm, you can fast travel. In fact I GREATLY encourage it. Admittedly, if you don't fast travel I will still accept it, but DAMN will it be unnecessarily long. I said no using the console to warp to places, that's all.

it would probably be more beneficial to not fast travel if you're going for 100%... you'd have to plan out where to go when for what quests, what houses to enter when...

I will eat my socks if this run is ever done.  Literally.  I will fry them up and force them down my throat.

and I'll take pictures.

Pictures?  I want a video...  Grin

Like I said, if I haven't seen this done by next year when I finally buy the game and expansions, and I'll get 'er done.  I already play games to fully explore the entire world, so this shouldn't be much different than actually playing through a second time.

theres no way that this run can be done within 20 hours.  nobody is going to watch something so obscenely long, much less download all of it. :|

No way? Are you joking? Once you hit level 20 this game gets rediculously easy. You can kill anything and go anywhere. You can carry multiple quests, just go town to town, and with proper planning I believe it is more than doable. Selecting the right character will be vital here.

I might feel differently once I've had some time playing the game fully, instead of the hour sessions I played at a friend's house, but I think less than 20 hours may be possible...  I guess we'll have to see though.
