Ah, I probably should have seen  the "THIS IS A PREVIEW" thing at the top. >_>

Yeah, I've got VeohTV.  The resolution kind of sucks, but if i scrunch it down more, it looks better.

Logged into filefront to see if anything is still there, and noticed this:

look at the number of downloads for part 6, how the fuck did that happen? Making zero sense to me, must be some kind of counter glitch.

ITS OVER 9000?!

I'm not going to attempt this, cos it sounds insane. But i looked through both PC and 360 forum and can't see a speedrun for this game. Is there a thread already for a speedrun of the main quest? I was gunna make a new thread but im gunna ask here first. Cos i want to speedrun Oblivions main quest (just the main quest) on the PC with default difficulty settin (normal i think that is.)

Armacham, are you still working on a plan for 100% speedrun? I would love to help try and get some ideas out there for you such as quest shortcuts and what not.

I'm starting on a quest shortcut document that will hopefully cut out a lot of time on your older run. It most likely will be done before you start up the new one.

Some examples of the shortcuts include (but are not limited to:)

"Unfriendly Competition," where you can kill Agarmir after starting the quest, and it being completed, or "A Rat Problem" where you can literally just kill all the rats and be done with it.

If you want to do it faster there is one thing I can note, in Oblivion gates after the Sigil Stone disappears, jump down and you'll be teleported outside of the gate without having to wait

Yeah, that's a good suggestion, I'll make sure to put it in the document.

Question: Will you be doing quests like "Expelled from the Fighters Guild" where you have to get kicked out of the Fighter's guild and then get back in?

Edit: I've attached a file that's an example of what a majority of the quest shortcuts are like, and if I recall, these are acceptable according to the rules that were originally set down. And also, this is not anywhere near done, and it's sporadic because I'm testing all of these and finding them out as I play the game. Oh and a lot of the one's that just say N/A just means I couldn't find anything, or that I haven't looked around yet. So if anyone wants to help add to this progressing file, go ahead and post what you've found, and I'll add them to the list! I really believe that if we can find enough shortcuts and the like, we can plan a run that's under 10 hours.

Yeah sure, that and the vampire quests, I think that covers what I didn't do.

Really liking what you've done so far. It is very convenient in a lot of cases (especially nirnroots) where you can essentially fail a quest and still complete it. I avoided this before in case pweisger didn't like me cheesing my way through a lot of the quests.

Me again, more things I'd like to note:

Lucian Lachance has a 'secret' trapdoor you can use during the Purification quest, in the hollow tree close by his fort, this will save time

During the Deadra shrine quest where you have to get the stolen orb of nightmares there should be a trapdoor hidden under the bush near the entrance of the fort leading directly to the orb, that is what I remember at least...

More great suggestions. You should register here at the forums, so I can give you credit to your findings.

Yeah, cheesing is a good word for it, but finding the fastest way to put a quest in the completed pile seems legitimate. I'm glad that you're approving the shortcuts because of the fact that some of these are cheesy. About the Expelled from the Fighter's Guild quest, I think we can squeeze it in a certain quest so it actually saves time, though I not sure yet.

Oh yeah, here's a link that might help ease tension in the speed run later in the game. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Quest_Timing
It might be somewhat applicable to take some of the suggestions here while using the shortcuts.
