For some reason I didn't find that other thread, BUT let's get this game back alive then! I will start running it more actively now. I have a quite new pc so I'm able to record the run in 720p using high quality textures, so the video quality will be good. I will make a time table when I have more missions done.

I've been recording alot lately and I have almost all missions done now. I've been training The Sins of our Fathers for a while now but it's just one hell of an annoying mission. When I get it right it will be fast. I found a nice glitch in the mission Safehouse which saves about three minutes. I also managed to find a nice route in All Ghillied Up that saves alot.
All in all the run is going better than I expected. This game is much better for speedrunning than I originally thought. It's really hard which makes it impressive in my opinion. The things that I do usually take about 50 to 100 takes before I get it right so this hasn't been a piece of cake afterall. I have a couple missions to do still but I want them to be perfect so I will be practicing them for a few more days. I hope even someone will find the run interesting, but if not, I had a great time doing this run nevertheless. But it's not the time for final speeches yet. More to come in a few days!

You should take a look at the times in the newer consoles thread. Running an FPS that exist on both console and PC makes it mandatory for the PC run to be faster, unless the console run has tricks and shortcuts that don't work on PC. This is because keyboard+mouse is far superior to a gamepad in controlling the game character. So if you're slower than the console run you really should redo it.

I have compared my times to the console run and my times are far better. Like I would be happy with a time that is worst than a console time. Though the difference between console and PC is not that big in this game since there's alot of waiting every now and then and scripted material. I haven't aimed for a certain time. I've just taken it mission by mission trying to make it as fast as possible. After I've finished all the missions, I will once more do them all trying to find some final polishment.

I got an idea today how I could get All Ghillied Up done faster. I Will be trying it after I get out of work. I already found a way to sneak past the guards when you are supposed to crawl below trucks with him. This saves almost a minute. What I thought about now was if it would be possible to get macmilllian to open the metal door faster before sneaking below the trucks. This would also save alot of time.
For The sins of the Father I have a clear route now that is without a doubt the fastest possible. The only problem is to execute it without problems. There's alot of enemies in this mission that just can't be ignored compeletely so it will take many tries to get it right. I don't want to stop at any time to just shoot at enemies which makes my running kinda hard. If I shoot at someone, I shoot while I run.
There's also room for improvements in my No fighting in the war room run. In this mission there's just a shitload of enemies and progressing without shooting atleast some of them is impossible. I will be able to get atleast 30 seconds of my current time. It just will take time since the whole mission is so random. I think it's the only missions that makes me want to smash my keyboard through my window but hey, it's a hell of a good game if only one mission makes me feel like that.

Are your times for those levels you mentioned the same as in the first post, or have you improved on those? If you can provide your best times and a route map or something like that then I can try and improve on it, find alternate routes, etc, and let you know about em! If you want help that is Sins of your Father has no time allocated either, btw. EDIT: A video of those levels would be even better, actually...

Hell yeah I want help. Just tell me which missions you would like to try and I will give detailed information on them. I just finished The sins of the Father in 6:09 and I will be posting a video of it soon. I will make it 1280x720 30fps to show the quality that the final release will be.

I am also able to record in that resolution, not highest graphics though My PC hates grassy areas/lots of sprites for some reason :S I'll give Blackout a shot first (on regular) as you do not have a time in your first post for that. EDIT: i just ran through the level and the quickest time i got was 7:38 - well, 7:56 if you include the chopper ride. I think i can cut that down to at least 7:30 though. The helicopter troops is whats slowing me down. Sometimes they can be killed within 20 seconds, other times it takes up to a minute! EDIT2: Completed, inc chopper ride, 7:36. So close! EDIT3: 7.17, incl. chopper ride and can easily be improved upon. I expect under 7 minutes once i'm lucky enough to place my shots really well and get that helicopter troops bit done as quick as i just did. Will upload vid tomorrow.

Nice QJX. I haven't tried the Blackout mission at all yet. It seemed kinda bad for speedrunning so I decided to do it last. Waiting for the video :). Here's a video of The sins of the Father mission. http://files.filefront.com/testavi/;9808375;/fileinfo.htmlIt's pretty big because I just didn't have time to test different settings and it's xvid. Well the final thing will be encoded in x264 which instantly reduces the filesize nicely. (I'm better at x264 enconding anyway) It's great to have help in this. Will be easier to find time saving things.
