OK sounds good. Any levels you want me to work on for the final run? Been away from my PC for much longer than anticipated so i haven't had a chance to practise recently

Good luck on this run guys, I'll be waiting to see it finished. Next try doing a speedrun on Veteran. I have a feeling that'd be a run where you're more waiting for your PC teammates to catch up. Still, I'd be hardcore.

mcbroiler: A veteran run would be fun, but pretty damn hard As soon as this is done I might try it. XFUBX: Thanks for the offer! I'll let you know more soon (will probably be for the veteran run though, as this looks like its pretty much done).

Doing a Veteran speedrun would be just insane. I can tell you that now that I've finished the run with Regular difficulty. Doing some things that I've done were almost impossible even with Regular. Of course the run would be possible with Veteran but it would be alot slower. But I guess the fact that it's done on Veteran would make it impressive nevertheless. I hope someone makes one . QJX I don't think you can help me here anymore. I don't see a way to improve these times more than maybe a couple seconds per mission. Yesterday I used once again 5 hours trying to find new and better routes in almost all missions. I just couldn't find any. This made me accept the fact that this run is currently as good as I can get it done. The time now is 1h 47min 54sec and I will be sticking with it. Although I'm slightly curious about the Aftermath mission. In the console section they haven't included it in the speedrun. I'm wondering why not? You have control over your actions and it doesn't end if you don't crawl out of the helicopter. What are your thoughts? I think it should be included since clearly it's part of the game.

I agree that it should be included - as you said it won't end unless you as the player actively 'plays' the game. Sorry I couldn't help out more. I was hoping that I could exploit some geometry glitches or something... but all the ones that have been discovered are pretty useless, and i haven't dedicated enough time to the game to find more 1:47:54 seems like a pretty good time anyway. As you said, difficult to improve. Wrap it all up and upload it! The only question remains, barring a veteran COD4 run... what next!?

A Veteran run would definitely be much slower, which is why I'm glad you're doing a Regular run first. Tactics like the one you used in the youtube video were great, especially because I had so much trouble at that part.
Still, it'd be great to see what seconds could be shaved off on Veteran. I think the runner might kill their self, though.

The man which does a run on Veteran would be insane. But possible, with a steel mental. But Veteran mode, with: - Enemy reaction time of 0,01 second (verified!) - Enemy fire rate of 30 bullets/second (not verified but their weapons fire very fastly) - Laser-guided grenades (verified!) Will suicide the basic speedrunner before he finished his run.

I tried to run Blackout (as i know that level the most) on Veteran last night. Bad idea - new tactics are needed, especially on the bit with the helicopter troops. I dont want to even think about some of the older levels. Cant wait to see it. My upload is really slow (~30KB/s), so I'm not looking forward to uploading a whole run. 170 meg took all night EDIT: Damn, there's gotta be some glitches in this game to get OOB, or skip parts, etc. Anybody know of ANY?

I did find one glitch in the game. If you are close to a wall and there's something on the otherside of that wall and someone shoots you with an rpg, you get teleported to the other side of that wall. I just didn't find this glitch useful in any situation. It even doesn't work everytime. Also, I don't know if it works if you shoot yourself with an rpg but I can tell you that there aren't many situations in the game where you are given an rpg. Only one that I can remember is in War Pig mission and in that mission it's useless.

I believe there is a single RPG in Blackout, but you get it after the helicopter troops. The trick might be useful to get through some painfully slow areas in the game. I know that you jump back slightly from an RPG explosion - I'll have to test this.

Hahaha a last minute addition:
All in 2:09
That was just a CRAZY run. 14 seconds faster than the old one. I just went rambo there :D. Ohh well, that was a well spent 3 hours and over 200 tries.

you've got to find out how to use the rpg through walls thing. there is a rpg in blackout and if you could use the rpg to get into the house with nikolai you could probably save some time.
