The IQ version runs fine for me. It's 1024x768 or whatever, H.264 video. So it's "HD" video. The run is mostly in the manner of screwballishness.
For example:
There's the gate where you're supposed to shoot the explosive barrels, which dislodge the steel girders on the crane, which open the gate. The usual speedrun uses a pistol to shoot the barrels. This run uses bunny-hopping and the sloped surface of the speedboat to propel the runner up onto the gate, who then prompty bases the wooden structure where the barrels are sitting and runs back through the (now open) gate to get back onto the speedboat.
In the strider battle, the runner jumps onto the foot of a strider, which propels him up to
THE top of the area box, landing on a sloped surface to minimize damage. Then the normal running around waiting for Dog to arrive and lift the outer wall of the citadel.
Even the dune-buggy section has some surprises. The runner uses sloped surfaces to do the jumps that normally require grenades.
This run is definitely in its own category, and it's a win.
