Some parts of the ghost house really punish you if you accidently touch a ghost. I'm thinking of the areas where you are sent way down below the floor as the slow moving zombie. I know I usually had to make several attempts at those parts before managing to dodge every ghost. Lots of practice will have to go there.

What's more interesting with a run like this is to see someone be able to consistently win all the treasure games on hard (as it is alot faster and requires less coins it is pretty much mandatory doing it on hard for a speedrun). Now that calls for some real concentration throughout the entire run Smiley

Either that, or a partner sitting and watching the right 4 squares, while you watch the left.

I don't think a 100% run is feasible unless great pains are taken to collect coins, due to the randomness of the game at the end of every level. However, other runs might be doable.

A 100% run as in all treasures and panels would be the best "100%" run.

I'm still interested in doing this, but it's almost not worth me saying anything because people trusting me with actually completing runs is a dangerous idea. Sad

I can offer support to anyone wanting to do a run.

The way I see it the any% of this game would follow the "normal" 25 stage path to the end. Low% would use the Invade Wario Castle subplot wherein you stay in bed to beat the game in 5 stages (TAS already exists for route consideration in stages). The 100%, yes, all treasures, tiles, and final time attack stage.

This run cannot be segmented without great difficulty because of autosave. To segment means to record a segment, erase the entire game, replay up to the end of the segment, collecting everything that you had at that point, and ending a level such that your coin total was equal to where it was at the end of the previous segment. (This same mechanism is the only option for a Wario Land I run that wants to segment. However, I am prepared to do that for a Wario Land I 100%).

100% is completely not a viable option for II, though. The game for the tile is totally random... there are certain numbers that you can automatically know from seeing a single tile revealed (50 coins), and others you literally have to uncover all 9 tiles to know (depending on the order they flip, and what digit it is... 6, 8, 9... 3, 4... etc...), which is 450 coins. The run would cease to be fast because of an unreasonably high amount of necessary coin collecting... assuming bare median with some good luck, you'd need to average 200 coins per stage, which is rarely on the path out. You also need assistance in the form of a second person watching the screen to reliably win every minigame for treasure on "hard".

The only kind of 100% run you'd be doing would be an all-stages-complete run, which is pretty darn close to an arbitrary goal for a category, considering that other than on the level select screen, if you don't collect a tile for a stage, there is no indication that you completed it.

heh looks like the autosave is a great pain here. seems a good and fast 100% is only feasible for TAS unless you get absurd luck.

but, isn't the game easy enough to make an any% SS feasible (at least in the regular 25 stages route)?

Yes that would only require you to finish the stages and the harder stages are all set in the other paths so not much stopping you from doing it with ease.

Yeah, they changed this game a lot compared to Wario Land I. Both games suck when it comes to luck and playing 100% runthroughs in general, but at least Wario Land I gave you three files to play with and start over if you need to for change of segment, if need be...

I'd say, if someone did a 100% and the rest of it didn't look really sloppy, if the person even gets decent luck on the bonus games and such, it should still be accepted, considering the great difficulty in restarting every time just because of horrible luck...
