Yeah, that's right. I've been thinking about rerunning for a long time already, and I think now is a good time to start. Now it'll be a much longer term project for a few reasons: I want the times to be even more optimized than they were, so I'm going to try even more for each segment, and two, I'm not gonna devote all of my time to this either.

I'll use two tricks I haven't used in my run, throw two less important grenade jumps out, and I've made a new plan for quite a bit of areas in-game. As usual, my aim is a very improbable time - sub 40 minutes. Hopefully it will become Realistic in the process. Smiley

Oh, and don't expect too many vids of this new run, most of them will be very similar to the earlier ones anyway.

Well, wish me luck. I'll need a lot of it.

Like I said, I prefer to take highly improbable goals. I'm thinking something under 42 is a more realistic goal, but you never know. Smiley

And thanks for all the 'good luck' wishes. I've been trying the first level for an hour or two, but nothing great so far.

Edit: By the way, mike agreed that I can use the enhanced renderer, and thanks to it I remove the 'grain' effect and my fps is stable. Should make things easier.

Good luck on the new run although saving minutes will be difficult the old route was fairly tight so from what you've said its the old run with the advantage of hein sight and slightly better execution?  now lets just wait till we get to the point that you 2/3 the way through and some one can find a ground breaking trick that saves a minute or so and you have to start all over again

Wow, this is probably the run I least expected an improvement on any time soon, the one now seems so solid.  Echoing the best of luck wishes of everyone else!

And would you deign to tell us what these 2 new tricks are, or is this a teaser?  Grin

Dex, wouldn't be better to wait 'till you upgrade your wood and stone pc, so you can record 50-60fps, thus better aim etc. ?

Thanks to the enhanced renderer my FPS stays at 30 all the time. A lot better than what was happening earlier, although 50 fps would be gold...but my money reserves are horribly thin, so my upgrade won't come too fast. :/

And the new routes, well let's just say that they are gonna be horribly risky. For one thing, I will have a point where I'll have to run in front of 4 enemies unscathed on an open environment. Gonna be interesting.

The two new tricks - you know them. It's just that they weren't used because of the time the trick was found or planning problems I thought would make the trick impossible.

And the reason I take on this run again is that while the old run was sharp, it contained a few mistakes and planning in the last levels was really improvised, too. I want this run to be the top of my abilities in both playing skill and route planning, even if this means only improving the current run by 1:30 or something like that. I hope it'll end up as more though.

Even 30 Seconds would be more than enough imho. But i don't want to set your targets below your skills  Grin
