well, we ought to be pushing promotion harder with zwei I think. It should go up on some more gaming related video sites, and we should spread the wallpapers around some wallpapery type sites. If anyone feels like handling that ...

I fixed my other post for SpeedCon 2006 and here's the group photo from SpeedCon 2000.

http://nahkahiir.thps3.net/temp/SpeedCon_2000a.JPG

It's not the original picture (you can tell by the horrible picture quality). I took a photo of a print out I used for Fine Arts class with my mobile phone.

Random thought: what about the site(s) that had the 'haloid' video prominently displayed for a while? Sorry for not being more helpful, but the zwei video would likely do well in a similar arena where gamers go to see awesome videos and whatnot.

I'd still like to see a SDA shirt. I think a conglomeration of various famous characters that are on games famous for speedrunning (yes, even link) would be awesome. Gotta pimp SDA.

Okay. We need much of things. T-shirts is a good start. Im a busy guy but I can do some T-shirts and sell it over summer. All extra money would go to SDA of course. I would appreciate if someone else could do this though.

And if someone have something against my ideas I can take constructive criticism. Don´t worry.

Here is the deal. A good logotype/slogan thing have to be done. More ideas is welcome. I think a bunch of members should agree about someone. Also a slogan maybe. It would be fun with a few types of game characters as an ad on on this shirts. But thats against the trademarks.
There is a lots of stores where you can print a nick or something for yourself. If you want. But I think I can add this if you reserve a t-shirt.

Maybe a SDA store can be created. But I don´t know the deal and what the crew think. I still think SDA need a larger crew Wink

i think we need an agressive viral ad campaign...

maybe something revolving around clips of speedruns going backwards at 8x speed and then the cryptic phrase "evil has some deeps"

that's the psychology of modern marketing

if you want my honest opinion, we need to put out something like a quarterly report for all the people that aren't into it enough to routinely check for the odd news update. something with screenshots- or better yet, short clips of exceedingly impressive running.

a long time ago i brought up expanding SDA but at that time most people replied that they didn't want a flood of popularity. i suggested getting something going with game magazines to feature runs on their demo discs. i also proposed an academy awards that would be distinctly different from the existing forum popularity contests, but getting into the science and artistry of running.

basically, you need something for people to look forward to and make it something substantial enough that it would be passed around by word of mouth on forums. maybe even a promo trailer for our youtuber fanbase.

I Like this idea, but I'd like to have some sort of picture to go along with it possibly. Maybe a screenshot from a popular speedrun?

If that is allowed, I'd like that. Or maybe what could be done is list on the front of the shirt all the common video games and put in the speedrun times on there; Such as "Did you know that Freddy Anderson holds the record for the shortest time completion for Super Mario bros. 3, at an amazing time of only 11:03" and list a few other games. Maybe place the game name, author, and time completion in a different format. as for the back, I don't know. Maybe say "Watch them at speeddemosarchove.com!" or something along that line.

Well, the common (or popular) games are those with the most competition, so the shirts will likely become obsolete very quickly, pojr.
