I remember this game from my past, but I only have very vague memories of it, so if my description is too vague, oh well.

It was a game for the SNES, I'm pretty sure, and it could have come out anywhere around 12 years ago, maybe a little later. I remember it was the DKC games were(platforming? side-scrolling? whatever it's called) and I remember that the power-ups you got turned you into different animals(I'm pretty sure?). I remember a dolphin, and I believe a dog was one of them, but that's it. It was very colorful, but seeing how I only played it a few times when I was a little kid (probably around 5 or 6) I really don't remember anything else about it. I believe it had a strange name, like it began with a z, x, or y or something. Again, sorry it isn't very descriptive, but not knowing the name of this game has bugged me for years! I thought I might as well try this out.

Marcus, I think I remember the game you're talking about, though probably not as well as you.  Didn't we rent it from blockbuster back in the day, and the cart/box had the animals on the front and each one had like it's own color or something?

edit (after below post): no, we had primal rage and I'm sure it wasn't claymates (assuming he and I are thinking of the same game, and I'm fairly certain we are).  I've just spent a while on google image to no avail-- I can't seem to find anything that matches the picture in my head.

edit 2: lol nvm, I saw claymates and immediately got clayfigher stuck in my head.  Totally different obviously.  Claymates was the game I was thinking of, now we'll see if that's what Marcus was remembering too.

Ok, so there's one game I remember that I used to play, but now I can't remember the name of it or many details. Here's what I remember:

DOS game that must of come out around the same time as Blood & Magic because I was deciding between this game and that. Although I kind of remember it being at a computer fair or fleamarket, so it could have been release give or take 2 - 3 years around 1996.

Its viewpoint is either top-down or isometric

You got to pick your guy(s) at the start so you control one guy or possibly a team (one person at a time though)

I remember usually picking the Red guy (he had full red colored armor including helmet)

I'm pretty sure it was a sci-fi setting with laser guns and other tech stuff.

I think there was on-screen text in different colors that gave descriptions of things you looked at.

Sadly, I don't really remember anything about the gameplay, but if I saw a screenshot, especially one with the red guy, I'd probably recognize it.

Yeah, Claymates seems to be right. I just watched some videos on Youtube. It wasn't exactly how I remembered it, but after about 10 years, a few things would get mixed up. So yes, Michael, that was the game I was thinking about. Thanks Enhasa! Sadly, it isn't near as awesome as I remember it being. D:

I can't remember for the life of me which one it is.  It's the only console one that I've played on its console, and it was for the PSX.  What I remember is this:

-You could be Mega Man or Zero, and on the character selection screen there was a code I always used to get Ultimate Armor for Mega Man (I was young)
-On the fire guy you had to hide behind pillars at one part of the level, so that you didn't get hit by the wall of flame that came past every some odd seconds
-I think the water guy was a whale
-There was a bike level (two?) that was predominantly red
-There was a Leaf Man or something and the whole level was green and had vines with thorns everywhere
-I think there was a submarine boss that you stood on top of, and there were numerous turrets that you had to destroy before the submarine fell (possibly before the water boss?)
-The boss on the first level was a giant face, IIRC
-The earth boss gave you a crescent weapon
-The disc was blue

This was 7-8 years ago, and not long after I beat the game my friend stepped on it and broke it.  Now, I've been wanting to play it recently but I can't remember which one it was :X

Mega Man X5, it's also the most unfun game in the series (no, I haven't played X7). Sad

I'd say Albion, but don't know about the red guy.

Pretty sure I would have remembered the cat people. And I think the graphics were more low budget than that. Also, I don't recall any first person views. I remember dying a lot too, and I didn't get very far because I didn't know what I was doing.

This thread seems like it could be helpful. Pretend I regurgitated all the guesses in here. You'd probably know Warhammer but Chaos Gate doesn't look too off.

Nope, none of those, although what he describes sounds close. I don't remember any green guys, they were all pretty unique characters. I don't remember any scenarios; there may have been traveling between planets. The on-screen text reminds me of an adventure game, but I'm pretty sure it was more real-time action.

I think I'll take a trip to my parents house to see if the game is still lingering over there somewhere.

Gender Wars maybe? Possibly? No?
