Dimension of the Gibbed

Welcome to fifth part of a seven part contest that'll send your bodyparts flying! The idea is to gib your way through the whole of Episode One - Dimension Of The Doomed in the fastest possible time. The finishing stats from the winner of the previous contest will be used as the starting stats of the current contest, the finishing stats from the winner of the current contest will be used as the starting stats for the next contest, and so on. Don't worry if that sounds a little confusing, all will become clear as time goes on. At the end of the series of competitions all the winning entries (and any cool bits from the other demos) will be recammed and joined together to form one big QdQ style production.

Contest 5 : Gibburat Vertigo

RANK PLAYER TIME
01. Timo Nieminen 0:41.54
02. Thomas Stubgaard 0:44.60
03. Basil de Vries 0:47.38
04. Arturo Garcia Lasca (disqualified) 1:00.21

Demos

Another great win for Timo Nieminen, who fought off some stiff competition from Thomas and Basil to claim his second victory of the series. All four demos show some great tricks but it was the inclusion of a few additional boosts and overall smooth-as-fuck play that gave Timo the edge. (Just check out the rocket jump off the ogre's head).

So that makes two wins each for Timo and Joe and one for Thomas with two contests still to go!

Unfortunately, we also had our first disqualification of the series as one of the scrags in Arturo Garcia Lasca's demo did not actually gib. I have included an additional demo (e1m8_ken.dem) which clearly shows the problem. His demo is still included in the download because I'm sure this was a genuine mistake. Ken might be a butt-hole, but he's never been a cheating butt-hole. :-)

The rules of this contest are simple... The closing date for this contest is Midnight CET Sunday 17th November 2002. The results and the details of the sixth part of the contest will be posted (hopefully) on Monday 18th November.

Okay people, you have a whole stack of weapons and ammo, a quad and a pentagram. I think that a big feast of carnage should be in order.

Let them eat death!
