Tower of Thunder

Just finished another tricky contest map, Tower of Thunder. You can guess quite a lot about it from the picture above :-) The new contest is speedrunning just like the previous contests. This time there are three tables: easy run, nightmare run and nightmare 100%. The deadline for the contest is 9th January 1999. More detailed info here. You must use QdQStats.

The home of Doom speedrunning, Compet-N, is holding a contest at the moment. Check out the rules and other stuff at Compet-N website. The deadline is 31st December so you must be quick if you want to compete!

New Customlevel episode at Shambler's
Mr.Shambler reviewed the new Schist episode at his Custom level site a couple of days ago. After playing it through I have to admit that It has a cool unique winter atmosphere in it.

I just squeezed 0.02 seconds from my previous record and got 8.47.
Attila improved his previous demo in e2m1 again and got 8.52. Nice route btw :)

I received 6 demos for Optic's hallway contest. The contest was very exiting and tight. Check out the results at the contest page. and don't forget to download Markus' great winning demo, 0:34.

Hallway contest, part 2
As the deadline was so soon, and people seemed to like the contest, here goes another task for you. Run the map using easy skill, but don't care about kills. For more detailed info, click HERE.

Doom2 "Get down to the Mines" -contest
Ouch, only one entry. Well, quality always beats numbers. Adam Hegyi, the maintainer of COMPET-N did awesome demos finishing his  in 0:54 and 2:41 (run & 100%). I'll set up another Doom2 contest soon, so all Doomers stay tuned ;-)

Btw, speaking of Doom :
-It's 5 years old
-GLdoom was released a couple days ago
-COMPET-N site was reconstructed.

E2M1 entries
While winning the Hallway contest, Markus improved his previous time by 0.06 seconds and got 8.58.
Attila did a good demo also finishing in 8.65. A 0.14 second improvement over his previous time.

SpeedRunners Delight
Jesse van Dijk from Planetquake has been building a huge custom level episode during the last months. He is aiming to release RDE on February-March 1999. Check out the project page! (I can't wait to play those levels)

I just improved my Nightmare run of map02 and got 1:06. Getting better...

Scourge done Slick lite was released a couple days ago. Get it! It has the coolest speedrunning ever :)

Hallway by Optic
Justin 'Optic' Fleck wanted me to set up a contest of speedrunning his map, Hallway. You'll see that this contest will be mostly gibbing... Run the map on easy 100%, the deadline is 12th so HURRY! :)

The Goat Run!

Here we go with a new contest for Quake. I finally finished another short custom level called The Goat Run. The idea is to run this level as fast as you can on Nightmare skill, so download, and try it :) Click here for more detailed rules and info.

Clarification
To make the rules clear : In mines 100% contest you have to have, 100% kills and 100% secrets in the intermission screen.

100% / MAX section added to the Doom2 contest
Just added a 100% section to the Mines contest. This means that you can also send me runs in which you kill all the monsters & find all the secrets. So get running :)

Two new demos
Doom2: map02 1:09 on Nightmare, yet two seconds faster than my previous time. Twelve seconds behind COMPET-N ;-)
Quake: e4m1 0:39, easy 100% coop with Juho.

Starting with Doom2, I just improved my Nightmare run of map02 by 6 seconds getting 1:11. Definately improvable...

Also a cool Quake co-op I did with Juho Larvi, e1m7 0:14. Phew, we thought this was impossible :)

And also wanted to try the speedrunners nightmare, Map24, which I ran in 0:47 on skill 1. You gotta love those ledges :)
