Stubby | Posted - 2 October 2001 2:19 PST What do you prefer/enjoy the most in a Quake done Quick production? Recams or first person recordings? Thomas Stubgaard |
Rolle | Posted - 2 October 2001 5:56 PST The recams! SdS is a damn fine piece of art! :) the recams gives you a movielike perspective (rocks) /showdown |
tim | Posted - 2 October 2001 6:32 PST i usually watch the first person demos first just to understand the tricks and things, then watch the recams .. a few times at least :) |
amrik | Posted - 2 October 2001 15:05 PST I like firstperson. I can then actually see what the person is doing. However, *after* the firstp, I watch the recam to get a different perspective of the trick and for overall enjoyment. - Amrik |
Ilkka Kurkela | Posted - 3 October 2001 0:48 PST I definitely prefer to watch a well-done refilm than the first person view. Ilkka |
Rolle | Posted - 3 October 2001 2:49 PST the firstperson view is better for checking out tricks and stuff like that.. the refilmed part are more anjoyable :) listen to Ilkka, he knows what he's talking about :) /johan |
Shambler | Posted - 3 October 2001 2:59 PST I prefer first person, I like seeing exactly what someone does from the normal playing perspective. Recams are pretty cool when they're part of a full QDQ style movie, but I haven't been hugely impressed with the refilming in general - it's good, but having done some Q2 refilming myself, I know there's a lot of cool **** you can do with refilms to add more interest. http://www.planetquake.com/teamshambler - it's Quake single player, bitches. |
XeNoN | Posted - 3 October 2001 14:40 PST Recams are great! I've tried doing it myself and it isn't easy to make them look good, so when I see a well done recam I'm often impressed. Like others have mentioned, I only really watch first person demos to see tricks in detail. But for entertainment value (which is why I download speedruns in the first place), I'd prefer a well shot recam any day. |
