Daniel. A | Posted - 14 November 2001 6:08 PST you should have seen the mp-crew back when we all were running... we allways bunnied to the store and boosted each other. if we took a shortcut that was like really hard like we said it was on nightmare or something... we were really quake-fucked up |
Fr3n | Posted - 14 November 2001 10:55 PST You mean you guys would draw straws to see which one would go to the store and then everyone pulled out a gun and shot him? OW! =) |
minwater | Posted - 14 November 2001 11:10 PST does dodging cars by inches to save time count? |
orbs | Posted - 15 November 2001 4:03 PST I always jump out of slopes...when i'm on my skateboard...but i like to keep my aim straight then....i must admit that i oce completly pissed "bunnied" back home jumping on every ledge/pole/stairs possible and making that hupt sound all the time...then some ppl watch me thinking look at that idiot..then i started making quad sounds...then they turned around prollly thinking it would be contageous...and all this effort was just to get that alcohol out of me to be able to play q when i would get home...i cant remind playing q that night though... Oh anyone does this? it's more of a multiplayer kind of thing ,walking around through a building or town and checking every walkway, corner, window etc if there would be an nmi, and drop grenades down sewer lids?(after all you never know there might be an alligator down there) |
tim | Posted - 15 November 2001 18:02 PST Basil, as well as punctuation, try paragraphing your posts and pressing the "enter" or "return" key or whatever they have in your country Tim |
Fr3n | Posted - 16 November 2001 6:45 PST Not necessarily a speedrunning habit, but has anyone else seen a flickering flourescent light in a parking lot or somesuch and wanted to shoot it to see if a secret opened? =) |
Ken | Posted - 16 November 2001 10:52 PST Hah, this is the kind of stuff they ask in the Quake test for the SDA profiles.. funny stuff. =) We live, as we dream - alone. |
XeNoN | Posted - 19 November 2001 14:42 PST Ken - No, I didn't make that demo. I'm actually one of a billion Xenon's online, it seems. I thought about changing my nick several times but I had already set up my site and released maps etc before I realised how popular this shite name actually is :) Anyway, you can identify me with the lame capitalisation on the two 'N's, and that I make maps and release them here: www.planetquake.com/xenon I suck at running but like downloading demos all the same.

Ken | Posted - 19 November 2001 16:59 PST Hah, funny. That's cool.. Do u have any maps on SDA? We live, as we dream - alone. |
Ilkka Kurkela | Posted - 20 November 2001 10:41 PST Uh well. I think I had already had too much speedrunning back in July 1999 when I visited Jesse. Some old news from Mineral's: "As you may have read from the Runner's Delight page, I was visiting Jesse for one week at Amsterdam, and just got back some hours ago. In addition to all the massive amount of work we spent doing stuff for RDE, we drank LOTS of beer, went to some cool D&B parties, and had these pointless conversations about speedrunning IRL which actually led us to wake up really early once and go test speedrunning IRL in Amsterdam's park, mad stuff :) After a couple of days when we were forced to do the first Nightmare 100% coop of the dishes we were thinking about a route back to I also remember the endless talks about the height of a real-life RJ... gosh, was that fun or what Jesse? :) - Ilkq goes to grab yet another beer. |
Fr3n | Posted - 20 November 2001 14:32 PST ...you guys are insane =) |
Rolle | Posted - 20 November 2001 15:26 PST hehe, i can remember that.. man i _was_ rolling on the floor laughing! :) And you guys are like 20! :) hehe well, boosting ppl down the 'nightmare-route' hill and throwing out monitors from hanssons place sure rock...man..those were the days.. //Johan |
XeNoN | Posted - 24 November 2001 4:31 PST I've only released one full q1sp so far, and thats not great for speedrunning. I've had Hanz butcher a few of my SP speedmaps (www.multiplayerquake.com/speedmaps) though... What would you guys say about adding both "best of" speedmap packs to the archives, btw? (theyre at my site)
