-SCUT-OpenGL | Posted - 28 November 2001 2:07 PST ya know there is no "always run" feature in standard doom, so which key do you use for running(speed up)?i used space for it before but on some bad keyboards(such as mine) you can only press 2 keys at a same time so it is bad for strafe running. now i am using "w" (yes, i am a wsad guy) for both forward and speed up, but then i m in big trouble when i want to just step left or right or back(mainly when fighting monsters). has anyone ever experienced problem of this kind? and what the hell do you use for speed up? |
Graffz | Posted - 28 November 2001 10:51 PST Hmm.. the standard speed-up key is shift if I don't remember wrong :) |
Stefan | Posted - 28 November 2001 17:49 PST There is an arcane way of turning 'always run' on in Doom; you have to edit your configuration file by hand and set joyb_speed to 31 IIRC. Also, I try to use a mouse driver that let's me set the vertical sensitivity to 0, so turning the mouse to look left or right won't accidentally result in forward/backward movement (which I do with keys). |
-SCUT-OpenGL | Posted - 29 November 2001 5:07 PST oh, thank you very much! it worked in doom2 but not in doom1, so i tried doom1 with 15 and it happened to work. =) |
