| Juhgu | Posted - 5 April 2002 7:44 PST I can't seem to get some of the marathon demos to run. The zip files have only pak0.pak and some .txt files so... Shouldn't it work just by running eg. winquake.exe -game <the directory where the files are in> ? It only starts to run the crappy quake default demo :D Eg. qdqwav works fine with just winquake.exe -game qdqwav |

The only thing you're missing is that once you have started Quake you need to pull the console down and type playdemo first_map_in_the_marathon So for Timo's l337 new ee4_1400 you would type playdemo e4m1 or for Amriks new dazsp2 marathon... playdemo dazsp2 All the demos should play in order, one after the other. |
| Radix | Posted - 5 April 2002 9:42 PST Since all the marathons are in .dz files you can also expand the pak file inside Dzip by double clicking on it, then you can just extract the .dem files if you want. |
| tim | Posted - 5 April 2002 19:04 PST and when you have multiple pak(number).pak you have to rename then so the one you want to watch is the lowest number (that is not levels) eg if there is a pak0.pak and pak1.pak for levels, qdqstats etc then the marathon should be pak2.pak otherwise you'll watch someone elses demos :) |
