-SCUT-OpenGL | Posted - 10 August 2002 19:58 PST just like the voting in the nolans, except this involves all id records, no matter when they are recorded. this is my opinion: best eh: e1m3_100. best nr: e1m3_024. what's ur opinion? tell me. =P |
SnooP | Posted - 11 August 2002 0:06 PST Best ID ER ever: e1m4_012.... not a record though. (demo by me) Records (IMO): |
-SCUT-OpenGL | Posted - 11 August 2002 4:20 PST i strongly doubt either of the runs you nominated is going to win. though they are both good demos, the major defect(in my eyes) of their viewing value is that they contain too few tricks, which is an important factor to win(the other deciding factor is that the demo has to be speedy, smooth and flawless, which shouldn't need to be explained). e1m3_024 is so impressive on me not only because it is smooth, but also because it contains 3 tricks with none of them being easy, it almost made me forget how hard a level e1m3 was. the second best nr in my mind is e4m3_037, its only shortcoming is that it was not squeezed down to 0:36. =/ Edited by - -SCUT-OpenGL on 8/11/2002 12:07:16 PM |
SnooP | Posted - 11 August 2002 4:27 PST if e4m3 was 36, I would have chose it, but since it wasn't I wanted something optimized. |
Martin Selinus | Posted - 11 August 2002 14:35 PST EH: e1m3_100 NH: e4m2_117 These are obvious. ER: e1m1_021 |
amrik | Posted - 28 August 2002 8:22 PST EH: e1m3_100 NH: e4m2_117 No questions asked... ER: Jozsef That's what it comes down to. =) |
Ken | Posted - 28 August 2002 8:35 PST If it's by category, it's like Amrik says. But if it's just the best 4 ID demos, I doubt any ER/NR would be there. We live, as we dream - alone. |
Jozsef | Posted - 28 August 2002 13:34 PST When I met Peter in Budapest, we were talking about Quake and stuffs of course, and I've mentioned how much I liked his e4m1_058 and still believe that it's his best NH. Funny, he told me it was much easier to make that compared to e4m2_117.... Probably now I like that e4m1 even more :) |
Morfans | Posted - 28 August 2002 14:12 PST e4m2_117 is my favourite demo ever. Slope jump + vore ball + ogre grenade jump to save one second? Pure madness. |
Ken | Posted - 28 August 2002 15:38 PST Damn, Jozsef and Peter in the same room.. I'd kill to have been there! Morfans: What about the end, bro? A double vore grenade jump... with so little ammo.. How many times would Peter screw up in that final seconds of the demo? Damn, thinking of it hurts.. We live, as we dream - alone. |
mineraal | Posted - 29 August 2002 2:15 PST those ALL are really madwack demos... but e4m2_117 rocks definatly... |
Stubby | Posted - 29 August 2002 6:46 PST You all forget Daniel Lindberg's e2m4_121 Easy 100%!! That record is pretty damn good! Definately one of the smoothest and most fluid 100% records I've ever seen, period! I would go as far as to say it's up to par with Peter's 100%'s. And remember this is my opinion, so don't give me any crap about that it's not as good as Peter's demos blah blah blah.... - The axe swinging master - |
amrik | Posted - 29 August 2002 9:32 PST I agree with Stubby on that one, Lindberg's e2m4 EH is on par with Peter's best demos. Peter's e4m2_117 is nothing short of spectacular. Voreball+Ogre Grenade + Slopejump to save what 1 second? Double voreball jump at the _end_ (tricks at the end are harder to do than at the beginning)! e1m3_100: Wheee.... if you are going to watch this demo for one thing, let that be the grenade placement after getting the RoS. In-fucking-credible. e2m5_026: Disappointed with Jozsef, he could make this a 25. But a great demo nonetheless. e2m4_040: How the fuck did Jozsef save a second? All that time in the bunny shrine pays off. ;) e4m3_037: Of course, Markus is the only one who can make bunnying look so effortless. Nice tricks in this demo. end_017: Ugliest demo ever... ugh, how did this ever be a record?? Slow as shit, fucked up |
Ken | Posted - 29 August 2002 13:39 PST I also agree, Lindberg's e2m4 is very pure, I must have watched that demo about a billion times. :) We live, as we dream - alone. |
amrik | Posted - 30 August 2002 7:12 PST We're all sure you did, Ken. =) |
