-SCUT-OpenGL | Posted - 11 August 2002 9:33 PST shouldn't this be posted at the tech support board? i would like to say something about the problems that i have encountered in playing quake, but i just worry that i will be blamed together with u. =\ |
mineraal | Posted - 11 August 2002 11:32 PST blamed together with me ?? I don't understand. .. |
amrik | Posted - 11 August 2002 11:43 PST Ask Nolan. |
Ken | Posted - 11 August 2002 12:31 PST I've had all existing problems related to Quake, heh heh. While I used DOSQuake, I had the same problem as you, mineralwater. So to exit DOSQuake, I had to minimize Quake (Alt+Tab), then right click on the start bar, over the quake part, and click close; then answer "Yes" to the shit that pops up. Try it. :P We live, as we dream - alone. |
mineraal | Posted - 13 August 2002 1:40 PST i use WINquake. And alt-tab makes it crash as well.. alt-enter does not respond. I think it has something to do with my video-drivers. But I'm not sure. ok.. nolan: I asked.. =] |
tim | Posted - 13 August 2002 12:46 PST ewwwww .. winquake there is all your problems... only stubby uses that real men (like me) use GL ;) |
Ken | Posted - 13 August 2002 14:49 PST Real men? Bleh, GL stinks. :P We live, as we dream - alone. |
Stubby | Posted - 14 August 2002 2:54 PST GL is for cunts! :-) - The axe swinging master - |
Adam Hegyi | Posted - 14 August 2002 8:00 PST start Winquake with -dibonly. |
mineraal | Posted - 14 August 2002 11:28 PST adam: YOU RULE!!!! stub: btw.. did you get my demo's ? |
Stubby | Posted - 14 August 2002 12:06 PST The comparison demos? If so, then yes. - The axe swinging master - |
Adam Hegyi | Posted - 15 August 2002 9:38 PST "-dibonly: WQ will use only windows (both normal, framed windows on the desktop and fullscreen, borderless windows), not any direct hardware access modes such as DirectDraw or VESA modes, or even VGA 320x200 mode. This is the closest thing to a guaranteed-to-run fullscreen mode WQ has." Most 3D vidcards are unable to close down WinQuake and QWCL without this option. It cuts some performance, but that's not much of an issue with today's comps. |
mineraal | Posted - 15 August 2002 10:13 PST stub: great.. So now I know it works ;)) adam: I don't have a now-a-day-comp.... ;( anyway.. thanks alot! |
amrik | Posted - 25 August 2002 13:31 PST Use the real manly dosquake! GL is for P-B's. =) |
mineraal | Posted - 26 August 2002 0:46 PST dosquake doesn't run smooth, every 10 frames a slight stop occurs.. Are there any advantages in dosquake ? |
