Stubby | Posted - 12 August 2003 5:26 PST Just wondering what the most improvable ID maps in the tables are. By improvable I mean the ones that can be improved by the most seconds. My bet would be my own e4m6 record for the Nightmare 100% category, it's really crap, and there's a much faster route than the current one, but it involves some hard to pull off tricks. Coming in on a close 2nd is e3m5, or maybe e4m4. In the Easy 100% category my guess would again be e4m6 (Carl), or e4m3 (Hansson)/e4m4 (Jozsef). In the Nightmare Runs category I think my e3m7 record could be improved by 2-3 seconds if you got REEEEALLY lucky with the monsters, but I doubt anyone's gonna try to attempt to break the current record... Other than that I'd say Martin's e2m1 (the long way), or Robert's e1m8. For the Easy Run I'd say Martin's e2m1 (the long way), or Peter's e2m2 (yes!), if someone with proper bunnyskills could pull off the same tricks as Peter, I can see this record going below 30 seconds ;-) Gimme some feedback! - The Axe Basher - |
-SCUT-OpenGL | Posted - 12 August 2003 5:44 PST er: e1m3! i must say markus' e1m3_032 contains too many mistakes. i must admit e2m2 is pretty fast, except the lame gj at the end. nr: i think e1m8, e2m5, e3m1 and e3m5 can be improved. nh: most maps are so long that they can never be optimized. -_-b |
Jozsef | Posted - 12 August 2003 13:00 PST e1m3_032: i tried to improve this lotsa times before, but i just ___cant____ catch mr. z0mb1e so quickly as markus did e2m2_031: naaah :) i tried this also, but this is killing spree as well. too many hard trix in one run... seems like a perfect demo for me :) NO! e4m4_157 (my eh): agree. old, slow, buggy, somebody beat it. thx |
tim | Posted - 18 August 2003 10:15 PST 2-3 seconds for e3m7 NR?? get your hand off it stubby! how about Wills NR ID? 2-3 minutes could come off that bad boy for the same effort to work on e3m7 |
-SCUT-OpenGL | Posted - 19 August 2003 10:26 PST tim, even if you think the chance of beating e3m7 nr is as low as beating will's id1 nr(for example, both has a chance of 1%), dont forget that every attempt of id1 nr takes a lot longer than an attempt on e3m7. that is, if you spend a lot of time and energy trying id1 for 100 times(and get a successful run), you could have tried e3m7 for 1000 times within the same effort. verorbeb | Posted - 20 August 2003 4:01 PST but the margine is wider ID wouldn't have to be as perfect as e3m7 would need to be.. |

Robert | Posted - 26 August 2003 14:46 PST Improve NR e1m8 ? nononono, that run is optimised!! X-) |
