Beyond Belief Secret Area Locations - Sunday 28th September '97
Bbstart: Welcome to Dying... (no official secrets)
1.) The Nightmare mode is reached by shooting an area of wall to the
right of where the moving platform is (in the entrance to the Hard skill).
From there procede through the wall to a rocket launcher. Rocket Jump up
through the teleporter and Nightmare is yours.
Bbelief1: Mission Control (five secrets)
1.) In the water area in the centre of the level there is a grill with
a different texture. Shoot it to open the door. Follow the tube to a Quad and
a switch to open the second secret.
2.) When exiting from the first secret go stright across the pool to
the other now open tube. Follow this to the outdoors for a Megahealth.
3.) Collect the gole key card (usefull later). Then shoot the animated
world screen on the wall beside the door. Go back the way you came in and
immeditaely turn right to see an open door and a Super shotgun.
4.) On your way to the gold key door. Jump out of the window and onto
the jetti area where you started you'll find a green armour in an area
activated by the silver key (told ya it'd be uselfull).
5.) In the very final room the monitors on the left have one tiny
shootable red flashing light which can be shot to reveal a Bio-suit. Grab it
and plunge into the slie on the left. Continue swimming right until you reach
some steps, an enforcer, a Super shotgun, and some Explode boxes.
Bbelief2: The Cleanse (three secrets)
1.) In the water where you find the Silver key, swim towards the right
and down a little to locate a secret cave containing some nails.
2.) In the room with the overhang and the two lifts the first lifts
switch room contains a console with the planet picture on it. Shoot it and
drop down the first lift space. A box has shifted allowing you access to a
Yellow armour.
3.) In the tiny room with the boxes just past the gold key, it is
possible to climb to the top of those boxes and make a small ledge appear from
out of the wall. You can walk onto this and collect the Megahealth that also
appears.
Bbelief3: Another Fine Mess (three secrets)
1.) After the levels longest staircase you have to walk over a bridge
across some lava, with lots of Ogres on either side. At the beginning of this
room look up to see a switch which can be shot to reveal a Quad and also a
nifty teleport to the end of the hall.
2.) Having dropped onto the silver key, turn to face the small inset
area in one corner of the room. move to the left and shoot the second Gargoyle
to open the door and find a Grenade Launcher.
3.) Just after the Silver key door, go to the end, ignoring the stairs
onto what looks to be a dead end. when there shoot the discolored wall to
reveal a room containing a Green armour.
(Extra) Just before the Silver door go back and under the steps to
find a nailgun.
Bbelief4: Hell's Sewers (three secrets)
1.) Inside the first building you will see an Ogre. Kill it and walk
to the middle of the stairs. Turn to the right and shoot the discolored wall
just above the overhang.
2.) Go into the small building in the sewers with the pentagram on the
door. Work your way right and up the stairs. Press the first switch and
proceed into the area the knight came from. Press the switch in there and wait
until the floor opens revealing a Yellow armour.
3.) When approaching the Silver door, go into the door just by the
nail shooter traps and press the switch. Ride the lift to the top and then
look into the right hand corner of the room. You'll see an odd texture, which,
when shot, opens a path to a suspended Quad.
(Extra) From the room mentioned in #2 (the one with the Demon) go
outside into the water. Walk around the building anti-clockwise, until you
find you can get under it to the Grenade Launcher, which Matthias hid there.
Bbelief5: The Lava Grounds (four secrets, including secret exit)
1.) In the room with the Zombies, with the two rivet pillars, and just
before the jetti rises from the lava, there is a switch on the wall to the
right of where the stairs rise. Shooting it will open a small ammo stash under
the staircase in the corner.
2.) After returning with the Silver key, to the rope bridge area, a
small area will have opened containing an Ogre. Inside this area is a
shootable wall leading to the Yellow armour you saw when collecting the key.
3.) In the narrow passage before the Silver door two areas will open
on either side, containing knights. Shooting the back wall of the left one
allows access to a Megahealth.
4.) Just at the end of the level there is a tiny water filled room
with Zombies in. Go to this room and press the switch in it. Immediatley
look up and shoot through the grill to hit the short lived button. The Super
shotgun is best for this. Return the way you came until you get to the Iron
cage. Notice how one beam is missing so you could walk along the sloped
rockface to the pentagram. It's suicide, instead go back to the rope bridge
area and take a leap of faith. Once you have the pentagram, dive into the
lava and swim underneath the building to your right (when facing the rope
bridge from the pentagram) to see the secret exit which leads to the level
Bbsecret.
Bbsecret: These Deepest Feelings (two secrets)
1.) These ones are hard to describe, so bare with me a while. It may
take some deciphering to work out where I mean. Anyway from the Silver door,
continue down the steps until you reach the area where the path splits in two.
The two halls being dead ends with a few bars between them. Go into the one
with the switch (and the HellKnight) and press the button. Return to the
parallel hall and go down on the lift. Once in the room with the windows that
lets you see the next laval filled room, press the switch in the very centre
of the wall. Now go back up the lift. The section with the switch should now
have dropped a little allowing you to go down to a teleporter. Don't jump in
that. Instead turn to face the wall opposite it and shoot. It will open and
you can follow the tunnel to the Yellow armour. Phew!
2.) This one is even tougher to describe, since the room is so
indestinctive. But here goes anyway. In the room with the brown support beams
on either wall and a grill in the floor, there are six small depressions in
the walls (three on either side). Two of them house switches and the other
four have lights. One light is a different color. Shoot it and turn to face
the light opposite it. A small wall will open revealing yet another Megahealth.
BBelief6: Seal of Secrecy (four secrets, one extra)
1.) Right from the start proceed out of the first hall and into the
outside area. Turn right and walk under the overhanging guard tower, where the
HellKnight is walking. Turn to the left wall and shoot the off coloured area.
This opens a tunnel to the Green armour.
2.) After passing the Vore and going into the green corridors drop
into the water and look for a button, it's just beneath and overhanging wall,
beside a set of metal bars blocking off the player from reaching the
Megahealth it reveals. After shooting the button look through the bars to
where a Megahealth now sits. To collect it travel to the area just outside
the Silver key box room, and drop into the broadest area where the water is.
The Megahealth is just behind you.
3.) When approaching the Gold Key barrier there is a window you can
jump out of to land on a small ledge surrounding the blue building, with the
Silver key door. Once on this ledge turn 180 degrees to face a small alcove
with a Megahealth. Grab it!
4.) In the slime beneath the blue building there is a switch which
will open a barrier near the Gold key. Travel back to the Gold key and an area
where there was once a wall, there is now a ledge and the Red armour.
(Extra) Upon finding all four secrets you'll be told: 'A new Secret
has opened'. Travel to the room outside where the Silver key is, (so that you
would see the Silver key through the bars) and a new boxed room will have
opened. It has no items, only a scripture on the wall....
Bbelief7: The unholy alliance (no screts, no extras)
1.) The only interesting thing in this map is what happens when you
try to rocket jump to the exit :) Damn you Matthias.
