| Ken | Posted - 5 October 2001 18:41 PST Well, since I started watching SDA demos, a long way back.. I could say the following: Yonatan was my first Quake hero. Qdq and Qd100Q, oh boy! That dude was amazing. And those projects too, I still remember those lines poppoing up in the movie version... what map was it with the "thank you zombie. Thank you spawn (or somethng). thank u fiend (or something)" .. Was it e4m5? And the "here doggie" in e1m3, heh heh. That guy was my personal hero for a LONG while. Unfortunately I didn't know about SDA untill January 2000 or something! Where bunnies were already invented and exploted. Markus Taipale became my hero instantly. Damn, how much I admired that guy for a while. (I still admire him a lot).. Take a look at this cool quote he once told me (hah) "I'm not a god, I'm just a f*ucking gamer!" .. I must have been pissing off trying to get him to do some runs. He is still the fastest. Who would have dreamed of :23 in e1m1 in 99? :P Peter was always good, but several months ago when he REALLY learned how to bunny.. oh boy, definitely the best ever now. Those 100%s are just amazing. I always liked Illka style.. and damn! He ownz every1 in DM! I'd pay to see him play Daniel L. (He's a QW addict heh).. coz apparently those dudes (Marlo, Alex.. cant play DM!) I like bunnies so much, nobody else does and it sucks. I like watching demos more than any1 else! The number of times I've watched some demos.. oh man, it's just unbelievable, I spend so much time starring at the screen with those demos.. wtf am I talking about? Every1 is respected here.. (except me). And some of the not-so-great runners have done a lot for SDA/QdQ, like Nolan (who still hates me), Stefan, Anthony, Chris, those people. I could continue talking forever.. That's my problem, I talk too much when it comes to Quake. I wish Markus would come back and do some more demos and marathons. We live, as we dream - alone. |

I say this because someone once told me he hated "the entire mp crew". Nagasaki, I was trying to make a point. I like Marlo's and Alex's style, A LOT, and I love their demos, I consider them to be EXTREMLY good, really.. better than you even! They both rock! .. But Ilkka has just RAPED them both in DM in the Speedcons!! I was just saying Ilkka truly rocks at DM, I didn't intend to say those were bad.. of course they'd beat me... hell, even reaper bots can take me sometimes. We live, as we dream - alone. |
