lodis | Posted - 15 August 2003 0:21 PST that's actually not a bad idea that stubby is on to there...everyone participates...and we can have a forum here were people can talk about routes etc as well as on irc...we could have a webpage where we upload latest demos etc. I like it. I wouldn't participate as I need a break from running but it's an interesting idea. |
Stubby | Posted - 20 August 2003 1:11 PST Seeing as no-one else but Bergendorff replied, I deem my idea a failure ;-) - The Axe Basher - |
verorbeb | Posted - 20 August 2003 3:55 PST nonono i even think all the projects should be public! |
Ken | Posted - 20 August 2003 10:35 PST The idea of making it public is actually pretty cool, IMO. |
Jozsef | Posted - 20 August 2003 15:41 PST We need to try it out, unless we never know... |
Stubby | Posted - 21 August 2003 1:03 PST Ok, let's give it a shot! More info will probably be up later today... or tomorrow... or the day after that ;-) - The Axe Basher - |
tim | Posted - 21 August 2003 1:55 PST just stumbled onto this thread and yeah, once the DM maps for ROTW is gone this could take over .. really nice idea too, and I class anything with an ID sticker or something u had to buy above other stuff .. even if its not as good ;) at least b4 quake 3 ;) Also it will be great when DOTG is finally released to us .. btw using the hipnotic fish the other ID eps are gibbable on easy .. hehe and how about "Rogue done shit" cuz the quality would just be ass :) |
Stubby | Posted - 21 August 2003 5:43 PST Ok, I've decided to open up 3 projects for the public:
1. Quake done 100 Quick Lite 2 - this one will most likely be the most interresting.
I'll keep Quake done 100% Quick with a Vengeance secret for now, it would only get too much if I opened another one of the big projects, and besides, I'd like to keep it secret for personal reasons as well. The Rabbit Run will be released soon(ish) as an .avi, BUT it's only going to be the first person recordings, none of all the fancy stuff which were meant to be included in the final release will ever see the light of day I'm afraid. So what do you say guys? - The Axe Basher - |
tim | Posted - 21 August 2003 5:53 PST i would suggest for the qdq EH thing not to share the demos with all, just tell them the stats they can start the next levels with .. that can keep some surprise. I think the axe thing will take a long time open or closed :) and for SDS, i'd suggest initially start it like a "rotw" with all 4 categories .. to gage interest perhaps the first ROTW has hip1m1 on all 4 types .. next one has hip2m1 that way if something is going 2 be to hard .. or no one wants to do it then you find out .. close that .. and continue with the category that people want to do. |
Charlie 5-0 | Posted - 21 August 2003 6:17 PST This is a cool idea, Stubby. I´m interested in a 100% of hipnotic... skill 0 or 3 doesn´t really matter.

lodis | Posted - 22 August 2003 0:21 PST Don't you think opening 3 projects at the same time is a bit too much? I think we should check peoples interest and see which is the most popular and then we focus on that one instead of getting split on all three...if we want to finish anything I suggest we focus on one. |
Morfans | Posted - 22 August 2003 1:23 PST > I think we should check peoples interest... Surely that's what this thread is for. :-) Personally, an Easy 100% sounds fun. The NH has already been owned in Nolan's epic marathon. :-) |
Stubby | Posted - 22 August 2003 1:36 PST I don't think those 3 projects are too much. Qd100Qlite2 is fairly close to completion, and the chopped project is what it is ;-) The Hipnotic project is still somewhat uncertain at this point, but so far it looks like it'll be an EH project. If anyone else thinks it's too much with 3 projects, please speak up, and I'll reconsider. - The Axe Basher - |
Robert | Posted - 25 August 2003 6:46 PST Great idea Axe Basher, but if we are going to start so many projects, shouldnt we wait 'til the rotw contests are over? |
Nagasaki | Posted - 25 August 2003 9:54 PST The idea of keeping the demos secret but releasing the latest stats so that everyone can compete sounds good to me. Providing the public with all the latest times may encourage runners to get their names in, unlike all these intern projects which no one will probaby ever see finished. *** |
