goa (and trance in general) is for people who have no clue about music.

People who listen to that crap is the same type that ends up listening to "Hits for kids" and eurotechno.

no offense, just my very well thought out opinion :)

Slayer is a real man's music!!

Goa and Trance (and similar styles) fucking suck smelly horse rectum! Music like that has no soul, period!

Music is about playing the intruments by yourself, and not letting some stupid computer do all the work...

ok... you guys need some musical education. ;P 1) Music like goatrance comes from a state called GOA in Inda, a lot of dope-users live there like a sort of mushroom-jamaica. Goa and Psytrance are created there to accompany a so-called TRIP (mushrooms). they're psychoactive music styles, and when you are tripping you can hear sounds in it that you couldn't ordinairy hear. Yet ofcourse with the rescent commercial goa this is not the case. 2) I personally am not fond of house, I like slayer indeed, and slipknot, WATCHA!, Hed(pe). Everything that goes hard and ridiculously noisy is my style. 3) PSYTRANCE PARTY in AMSTERDAM 16th MARCH! verorberaar: coming with me? ;P

i believe we all need something to hate, that way the stuff we like, we like it even more. I HATE techno .. all forms and rap, give me some Tool anyday (not that i'm a big fan .. infact there are only a few of their songs i know, its just I like the sound of it, to me its a sorta modern day pink floyd

p.s. i wonder how many pages this topic will end up in :)

Fedimef: you're absolutely right :)

and Stubby, you shouldn't post here just after your daily gluesniffing session, you just end up making a fool out of yourself ;)
It doesn't matter what "instruments" you use to make music, it's the music that counts.
You sound like my dad who's into classical music (mainly operas, blah) and thinks rock and everything modern sucks. Not to mention that you're dissing loads of innovative artists that have taken music making to a new level (Aphex Twin, Einsturzende Neubauten springs to mind, just to name two).
But you are right about soul. You have to have some soul in the music, I'm not sure about slayer here, but let's not go there :P

Min : "...Goa... and when you are tripping you can hear sounds in it that you couldn't ordinairy hear" Bollocks! You will hear sounds you wouldn't normally hear in ANY kind of music when you're tripping. In fact, you will hears sounds you wouldn't normally hear (and see things you wouldn't normally see) in a totally silent, empty room. :-)

At least, you used to be able too back in the good old days when I were a lad. :-)

And just to combine the two subjects of this thread. Slayer on acid : be with friends. :-)

I think it's all about creativity...hmmz i dont realy feel lik egoing to that party ( in fact drum and basss is the only "dance" i realy like though i don't hate the other forms anymore) but we could hook b4 and smoke a joint somewhere i geuss:)

slayer no sool ha! geuss you could say that about sepultaru having ripped (%% of their style from decent bands like..ehh SLAYER!

Only down south in heaven!

FedimeFPosted - 25 January 2002 17:07 PST
1. Go and listen to DJ Shadow's 'Endtroducing'
2. Come back and tell me your view on 'dance' music hasn't changed (because you won't be able to) :)

morfans: Bollocks! You will hear sounds you wouldn't normally hear in ANY kind of music when you're tripping. Well, this is true, but PSY/GOA is made sole for this purpose. There are actual notes that are made that you won't notice sober. And really, on a party like that it's not about the music, it's about the atmosfeer.
